Privacy policy
Last updated: 12 October 2026
AQVA Design (“AQVA”, “we”, “us”) makes deep-soak and hydrotherapy baths in Melbourne. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
When you enquire, register your interest, call or email us, we collect:
- your name, email address and phone number
- your suburb or postcode
- the project details you choose to give us, such as the model you're interested in, how many people will bathe, bath or spa, insert or freestanding, project stage, timeframe, who the bath is for, and any notes
- plans, drawings or other files you upload with your enquiry
- if you contact us on behalf of a business or organisation, its name and your role
If you buy from us, we also collect delivery and installation details, and the records we need for invoicing, warranty and after-sales support.
When you use our website, our hosting and spam-protection providers process technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type. Our forms also record the page you sent your enquiry from.
Health information. We don't ask for it. Some people tell us about mobility, medical or pregnancy needs when asking about walk-in, maternity or therapy baths. If you share it, we use it only to answer your enquiry and recommend a suitable bath, and we don't pass it on without your consent.
How we collect it
Mostly directly from you: through our website forms, by phone, by email or in person. Sometimes from an architect, designer, builder or retailer working on your project, when you've asked them to put us in touch.
Why we use it
- to answer your enquiry, recommend a configuration and prepare a quote
- to make, deliver and support your bath, including warranty and after-sales service
- to tell you about something you've asked to hear about, such as the walk-in bath being ready
- to run our business: accounts, records and legal obligations
- to protect our forms from spam and abuse
We don't sell, rent or trade personal information. We only send you marketing if you've asked for it or agreed to it, and every message tells you how to opt out.
Who we share it with
Only where it's needed for the purposes above:
- people working on your project, such as your architect, designer, builder, plumber, installer or retailer, when you've asked us to or the project needs it
- freight and delivery companies
- service providers who run parts of our business for us: website hosting, spam protection and storage of enquiries and uploaded files (Cloudflare), website analytics (Google Analytics), form email delivery (Resend), email and file storage (Google Workspace), and our accounting and IT providers
- our professional advisers, such as our accountant or lawyer
- government bodies or others when the law requires it
Information sent overseas
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to make sure they protect your information.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use our website. It sets cookies and collects information such as the pages you view, your device and your approximate location. Google processes this data, including in the United States. You can block these cookies in your browser settings or with Google's opt-out browser add-on. When you submit a form, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you're a person rather than a bot. To do this it reads technical signals from your browser and device. Cloudflare's own privacy policy applies to that check.
Automated decisions
We don't use computer programs to make decisions about you that significantly affect your rights or interests. A person reads and answers every enquiry. Our spam protection does automatically block form submissions that look like they come from bots. If your enquiry doesn't go through, call or email us.
Keeping your information safe
We store personal information with providers that use encryption and access controls, and access is limited to AQVA and the providers listed above. No system is completely secure. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we'll tell you and, where required, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it. Submissions our spam protection blocks are deleted automatically after 30 days. If an enquiry doesn't go ahead, we delete or de-identify your details once they're no longer needed. If you buy from us, we keep the records we need for warranty and after-sales support for the life of the warranty, and financial records for as long as the law requires.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it. Contact us using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity first. We'll respond within 30 days, and we don't charge for a request.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we've handled your personal information, contact us first. We'll look into it and respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you may be able to complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
